What We Do

SCMCC actively works to strengthen relationships, bridge divides and inspire positive community engagement through events, hospitality, outreach and regular interfaith conversations.

Through the Together in Dialogue Network, SCMCC holds interfaith meetings, family events, community gatherings, Eid celebrations and social activities that encourage friendship, understanding and positive community relations.

Annual Activities

Solihull Inter-Faith Walk

SCMCC organised Solihull's first Inter-Faith Walk in November 2024, bringing together participants from a wide range of faith traditions, cultures and backgrounds. The walk has now become an annual event.

Young People's Debating Competition

The annual December debating competition gives young people aged 17-27 the opportunity to discuss social, cultural and community issues while building confidence and public speaking skills.

Community Afternoon Tea

The August wellbeing garden afternoon tea brings residents, councillors and community members together in a warm environment that strengthens relationships and mutual respect.

Inter-Faith Iftar

SCMCC's interfaith iftar welcomes neighbours, civic representatives, faith forums and local residents to reflect on fasting, compassion and shared spiritual values.

Remembrance and Learning

SCMCC takes part in remembrance activities, including wreath laying and Srebrenica remembrance, to honour sacrifice, peace, justice and shared history.

Visit My Mosque Day

SCMCC warmly welcomes individuals, families, neighbours and local organisations to explore the mosque, learn about Muslim practices and engage in informal conversation.

Talks and Workshops

Talks and workshops create space for shared learning, respectful questions and practical discussion on themes that matter to local communities. Sessions encourage people from different backgrounds to listen, reflect and build confidence in dialogue.
